Young Writer's Competition

Forest of Dean short story competition ‘Lost in Time’    A chance to win up to £100 and be published.

The second Forest of Dean Rotary Club and Dean Scribblers writing competition for ages 7-18 years is now open.
Open to young people who either go to school or live within the Forest of Dean District Council area.
The theme is ‘Lost in Time’ and to help get the creative juices flowing there are three optional picture prompts and first sentences to fire the imaginations. Visit rotary-rfod.org.uk/comp to see the prompts.

The judges are looking for stories that are unique, exciting, and full of character.

Think you know someone who has what it takes? Stories can be submitted online or by dropping off a hard copy at any of the Forest of Dean libraries.
Every long listed entry will be featured in an anthology, with great prizes for the winners.

Here's what one of our young winners had to say about last year's competition:
'It was encouraging, and meant a lot to me, because my dream is to become an author, so this is one step on the way to realising my dream.'    Seren, Winner of the 7-10 yrs category 2023

Closing date Sunday 4th August
